Here are some ideas, which can be used as incentives that will involve your friends and allow you to show off your strengths, as well as highlight your weaknesses. If you don’t want your flatmates to see you slip, you’ll have to work extra hard to stay on track.
Sin jar – just like a swear jar! grab one (it may need to be pretty big) and make someone pay each time they eat something they’re not meant to. If you’re a poor student this should be even more incentive not to go wrong.
Wall of binging – a chart on the wall displayed for everyone to see. A tally for each time you cheat or go off track – the most sinful has a forfeit of your choice
Treat night – choose a night of the week where you decide that you can let the diet go. Friday for example, where you allow yourself to drink alcohol and eat the treat things you’ve been craving all week
Make me fat app – download an app on your phone that makes you fat. Make your picture hideous enough so that you’re repulsed each time you see it. Put that on your wall (with the binging chart) and remind yourself of what you could look like if you keep eating.
Temptation wall – another chart for the wall. Make a list of foods that you decide are bad and need to be avoided – then if someone has something from the temptation list they will face a punishment of your choice.
Exercise chart – the last of the charts! This one is rewarding, with everyone noting their exercise on a chart and the person who does the most exercise that week gets free drinks at pres on the treat night.
