Waking up with a hangover is never a pleasant feeling, but if on top of that you include an aching bum it means you definitely had too much to drink the night before. Oli Mitchell, 20 year-old student at Bournemouth University woke up Saturday evening without much knowledge of the night before. He had been out with his friends in a Bournemouth town-centre Club called Sherbet at a Drum&Bass event and didn’t make it to bed until 1pm the next morning. When he finally got up later that day, he realised he had a tattoo of one of his friend’s name on one of his bum cheeks.
“When I looked at the picture I started to remember, we were so excited about it that Alex took a picture of my tattoo with his face next to it”, says Oli laughing. “I don’t regret it at the moment, it was a laugh, but I guess I’ll get asked a lot of awkward questions by girls about this ‘Alex O’Neill person’.”
This joke has cost Oli 70 pounds and a lifelong reminder of his friend Alex. Removing a tattoo is a hard procedure and it never completely disappears, plus besides all that it is an expensive operation (roughly 300 pounds for a tattoo of that size). Getting a tattoo is something a person has to think through before doing it because it’s something you’ll have on your skin until you die. On the plus side, the tattoo is in a location where not many people will see it. so Oli won’t have to explain his story to that many people.
