Neil Jarrett, Fundraising and Volunteer manager of the British Heart Foundation, urges people of all ages to get involved and gives his message to anyone thinking of taking part. He says: “It’s a really nice relaxed event, it will get you in the mood for Christmas. It’s very very much all about fun and of course the money that you raise will go to an extremely good cause.”
Pre-registration for adults is £10 or £15 on the day, both fees include a santa suit. Children’s entry fees are £5 with prizes for the best fancy dress. Last year children ran on the jog as reindeer or snowmen. You can get involved by visiting the BHF website here and downloading an online registration form.

All money raised goes towards funding research for the BHF, including a lot of work throughout local communities.
Money raised helps incredibly to fund equipment in hospitals, and defilbrelators in sports centres, schools and council offices.
The BHF also fund approximately 600 health care professionals in the UK including cardiac rehab nurses and technicians to help heart disease patients.
Neil Jarrett adds: “Of course, the money that you raise will go to an extremely good cause. There are about 700 thousand people in the UK currently living with heart disease and if we can reduce that number and help those people that are living with it to have an improved life, then surely that’s a very worthwhile thing.”
